Monday Coffee Date :: Back to Reality

After a week off it's always hard to get back to into the normal routine, but today I'm thankful for a cup of coffee and a little chat to start the week off right.

How are you friend?

Did you have a good weekend?

Mine was busy - after a week of caring for a sick little one (who finally got better by Friday) I feel like I tried to cram a week's worth of creative/productive things in so that my spring break wasn't a total wash.

I got the last of my craft room projects done, which basically means I talked Josh into hanging a couple of shelves for me so I could get some pictures and other things up off the floor. It always feels good to get things checked off the list.

What do you think?

If you ever want to do something crafty, you are welcome to come join me!

Did you get anything checked off your list this week?

Something else I did this week was delete my Facebook account. I have to tell you that it has been SO REFRESHING to disconnect a little bit. Sure I still check photos on Instagram, I've been blogging a bit this week, and I have a few blogs that I like to read as well.  But it's nice to have a break from everything that people post on Facebook. I can now enjoy a few pictures from friends, and read some blogs that inspire me, and that's it. My online life is much simpler. I no longer know what everyone is thinking about and/or doing at every moment and I love it. Maybe someday I'll open my account up again, but for now I am really enjoying my Facebook-free life.

I love simplifying things. I may not have gotten much spring cleaning done this week, but with a clean craft room and less online "clutter" I am ready to launch into the final stretch of the school year.

Hopefully the weather around here will start to feel more like Spring because I am really looking forward to sunshine and fresh air.

What are you looking forward to?

I hope you have a wonderful Monday and an even better week.

  1. I love your craft room! Must be inspiring to sit down and feel like you can be creative :)

It's been a year since I deleted my Facebook account FOR GOOD and I haven't looked back! Simple is the right word :) Sometimes we get so bogged down by being "connected" but we really are just investing precious time hearing about someone every minute that we never se in person.

Can you tell I'm done with Facebook? :)

I'm glad you had some time to get going over the Break. Being a mommy sure changes things when your plans turns upside down on a dime- but I am grateful you have Harry, and I know you are, too.

Hope this coming week is full of bright moments!

    1. Kim...I LOVE that you are so happy with being off Facebook for good. It is refreshing to have a new focus when it comes to "connection". I'm still obviously online here on my blog and I post photos on Instagram a lot (speaking of which...I LOVE all of your new home photos...keep them coming!) but overall I feel less bogged down and I'm hoping to invest more in the relationships that are right in front of me instead!

Thanks for commenting! I love feeling a little bit like we're having a chat! Love and miss you friend!

  2. Loved being with you this weekend! :) Also - I am thinking I might have to come craft with you at some point. We are re-doing our bedroom (for like 2 months now, ha!) and I could use some inspiration from my wonderful, creative friend, Krysta! Love you.

    1. I completely agree. Helping Liss and Kevin move ended up being such a blessing to me because I loved being able to catch up and really chat with you. Let's do it again soon. And YES to crafting!!! You can even bring Gavin to play with Harry in our mostly baby-proof/gated off family room area while we craft! LOVE you too friend!!!

  3. Your craft corner is just precious!! I am dreaming of a craft room...but you've given me great inspiration for just a small "nook" that I can dress up as my creative space! :) I understand the crash back into reality after a break...even just after a weekend gone by too quick! I started doing something called "Monday Moments" because I always felt grumpy that I had to start all over on Monday with a new week. So a Monday Moment is anything that makes looking forward to Monday that much sweeter (mine tend to be food...guess I am easy to please!) So: a special Starbucks stop I don't usually do during the week, taking my favorite meal for lunch, carving out some time to take a bubble bath, or sip a glass of wine, or spend some uninterrupted time "crafting" which isn't possible most nights of the week! Just little things.
Anyways... hope you have a wonderful rest of the week!

    1. Glad you are inspired :) it is so nice to have a little space to create, or just to sit and read or journal :). I love the "Monday Moments" idea. All of your moments sound delightful. Yesterday was a bit of a blur, but after I read this I decided to enjoy a couple of cookies tonight while I spend a few quite moments catching up on my to-do list. Productive, peaceful, and a little treat :) a perfect moment to celebrate this week...even if it's a day late. You're so sweet and I'm loving having a little chat with you this week, even if it's just online! :)
